Upper Thames Circuit of Methodist Churches
Welcome to the Web site of The Upper Thames Methodist Circuit. We do hope that you will find the site of interest. Our Churches are located in the beautiful Wiltshire, Gloustershire and Oxfordshire countryside. We are a Bible-based and Christ-centered group of Churches which include a number of Churches which are made up of people from a variety of denominational backgrounds. In total seventeen Churches are part of our Circuit. You are most welcome to join us in worship in any one of them.
The Mission statement of the Upper Thames Methodist Circuit is 'To grow in the love of God, to preach the gospel of Christ, and, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to reach out to others'. We want to know Christ and to make him known. To this end many of our Churches run Alpha courses and are active in evangelism in a variety of ways.
We take seriously 'Our Calling' which can be summarised as Worship, Evangelism, Service, Learning and Caring and seek to apply these in each local situation.
As a Circuit we meet together annually for an Open Air Camp meeting where several hundred gather to worship and hear God's Word.
We aim to support one another and enable mission and ministry in a variety of ways in each local area whilst also remembering that we are part of the world wide Church of Jesus Christ. Youth work is important and a full time Youth Worker is employed in one part of the Circuit.
If you require further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
